The Comox Valley Skating Club offers figure skating programs for all levels.  To register for figure skating programs please fill out the registration form on our website at Comoxvalleyskatingclub.ca.  A schedule of ice time is also posted there.  Please do not register online!

Program Description:

Have fun skating and learning with other teens!  The teen skate is for skaters of any ability level that want to improve their skills.  The format will be 20 minutes of lessons by the skating club coach and then free skate and to work on the skills learned for the rest of the session.  Private lessons will also be available during the last 25 minutes of the session (you can book these directly with the coach, Marcie Walker, if interested).  Some of the skaters who are in our figure skating program will also be on the ice during the teen skate.   

Program fee is $300 plus $45.00 for Skate Canada membership and insurance which is payable once/year.

Based on Sport Canada’s long term athlete development (LTAD) principles, CanSkate centers on physical literacy and the fundamental skills needed to take part in any ice sport or to skate as a recreational activity.

Who’s it for?

For beginners of all ages, children or adults, as well as for those wishing to improve their basic skills whether their focus be for figure skating, hockey, speed skating or just skating for fun.

Who teaches it?

NCCP-trained professional coaches, assisted by trained program assistants.

Note:  Hockey helmets are mandatory.

Ice skate rentals are available at the arena for a cost of $3.50.
